- DealMaker Transfer Agent FAQ
What is the difference between what DealMaker Shareholder Services does and “cap table management”?
DealMaker Transfer Agent is responsible for keeping a precise and comprehensive record of the shares classes we handle. In addition, we handle all investor updates and communications related to these shares.
Upon request, DealMaker Transfer Agent can print out a certified shareholder list which will list out each shareholder, relevant shareholder information (address, tax IDs, etc...), ownership stake in that particular share class, and more.
A “Cap Table” will often provide a high level view of multiple classes, including stock options, as well as an analysis of a company's percentages of ownership, equity dilution, and value of equity in each round of investment by founders, investors, and other owners. Cap Tables are often managed in-house or by company counsel.
