Magic Links and URL Parameters

With DealMaker, you are able to use URL Parameters to both pass through information to a magic link and to tag investors (similar to a UTM code).

"Magic" Link
This is the base link for each offering. You can find this link in the Investors tab of your deal portal. Anyone who is given a magic link will be able to participate in the deal.

For example, https://alpineventures.app.dealmaker.tech/invitations/83dfeeeb-3a26-41b6-9a71-fb50137d4624/view

Form integration & passthrough

To integrate a magic link with your form, you can use URL Parameters to pass through the investor's first name, last name, email and phone number.

For example, were an investor to follow the following link, their invitation page would be pre-filled:

https://alpineventures.app.dealmaker.tech/invitations/83dfeeeb-3a26-41b6-9a71-fb50137d4624/view?email_address=johndoe@dealmaker.tech&first_name=John&last_name=Doe&phone_number=1234567890

Attribution tracking

Using the "tnames" URL Parameters, you can append a tracking string to any link the same way you would a UTM code for google analytics. Whatever strings are added as "tnames" will appear as "tags" on every investor who follows that link on DealMaker.

You can also combine "tnames" with other URL parameters. For example, if John Doe accessed the following link, he would be tagged as 'google' and 'campaign7':

https://alpineventures.app.dealmaker.tech/invitations/83dfeeeb-3a26-41b6-9a71-fb50137d4624/view?email_address=johndoe@dealmaker.tech&first_name=John&last_name=Doe&phone_number=1234567890&tnames=google,campaign7
