When using the email editor, you will see there are 3 tabs in the right hand menu: Content, Rows and Settings.
Content Tab
Content blocks can be added to your email or newsfeed post by clicking on them from within the content tab, and dragging them into a row in the editor.
There are a variety of content blocks that can be used. They are as follows:
- Title: This can either be used to create the header for your email, or the title of your newsfeed post.
- Paragraph: This will create a generic paragraph block.
- List: This will create an unordered list, which can either be in number or bullet point format
- Image: This will create an image upload component. You can either copy the link for an image on the web or upload an image from your device of choice.
- Button: This will create a rectangular button. A redirect link can be added in the settings of this content block. This is a great way to add a call to action such as “Invest Now”.
- Divider: This will create a straight line divider between different content blocks.
- Spacer: This will create a block of empty space between different content blocks.
- Social: This will generate the logos of various social media platforms, and you can link your respective accounts to each logo. Other social media platform icons are available in the settings of this content block.
- *HTML: This will allow you to add direct HTML code that will be generated in the content block. HTML code can be added in the setting of this block.
- Note: The content from an HTML block cannot be edited directly in the editor, it must be edited in the HTML script itself (which can be found in the settings for this content block).
- Video: This will create a video upload component. If you use this while creating an email, it will add a thumbnail and create a link out to the video itself. If you use it while creating a newsfeed post, the video can be played in the post itself.
- Icons: This can be used to create various different icons, including ones you upload yourself.
- Menu: This will generate a horizontal or vertical menu (similar to a list). This can be used to add things like an email address, phone number, meeting tool, etc.
- Text: This will create a generic text block.
*To upload a podcast, you can copy the embeddable html from the original website and paste it into an html content block.
Each content block has various settings that can be changed, such as font style, padding, size, colour, etc. To access the settings for a specific content block, simply click on the block itself, and the settings will appear in the right hand menu under “content properties”.
Rows Tab
When loading in a blank template into the editor, a default row will appear that cannot be deleted. Rows are required as content blocks must live within a row, they cannot exist on their own.
Different custom rows can be found in the rows tab, each with different layouts. It is not necessary to add more than one row, but you can use custom rows if you want certain sections of your email or newsfeed post to have specific formatting that matches the custom row.
Settings Tab
The settings tab houses universal settings that are applied to every content block in your email or newsfeed post. In this tab you have the option to change the following things:
- Alignment and width of your rows
- Overall background colour (applied uniformly to all rows)
- Background colour for each content block (this will be applied to all of them)
- Default font
- Link colour
